12d Model has several tools for the modelling of Sewer or Foul Water systems.

The “Water” String can be used to model the Main Sewer lines being a gravity system similarly to a Stormwater Drainage network.

Starting the process is very similar, but Users should be aware of the Local Authority Standards in which the system is being designed and outputs required for the Project location.

Things to note:

  1. Sewer (Foul Water) networks typically have a “Flow Direction” opposite to the string direction.
  2. Water “Services Defaults” may have additional “Property control info” and “House connection info” requirements.
  3. House Connection “Types” are read from the “drainage.4d” file and can be customised for the Local Authority.

To view all the Foul Water “Sewer” tools, Use: Water => Foul Water

Foul Water Menu

  • Network editor – This option opens the standard “Water Network Editor” and can be used to rename, change and edit pit types.  It will also calculate the pit depths and ensure the connection of pipes across the network drains correctly.
  • Plan Edits –  these collection of tools allows you to easy modify your Foul Water network.  Making it easy to Append, Move, Delete and adjust locations of pits etc quickly without the need to open an individual editior for a specific “Line/ String” each time.
  • Controls/house connections – This tool has been developed to allow users to quickly model Lot Controls and house connections to the Main Sewer network.  If the Main line is adjuected, the individual lot connections can be easily recalculated and updated saving users much time.
  • Extract sewer controls – As sewer property control strings are a sub string of the Water (Foul Water) string.  This options allows Users to export and plot this information if required.
