Classify with Attributes

These options have been developed to allow users to group and arrange their 12d project data for selection or other purposes.

The example might be the selection of all the “closed” strings within a group of models.  The standard 12d “data selection method” doesn’t contain such a tool for this, but if the user classifys the project data first. An attribute will then be produced which can be used (within the filter option) for just such a selection of that specific data.

The position for these options on the 12d Menu are as follows.

  • Utilities >Attributes >Classify with attributes >
  • Utilities >A-G >Classify with attributes >

This option sets the integer attribute Closed on Super strings, based on whether or not the string is closed.

An integer value of “1” is set if the string is closed, otherwise “0” for open strings.

This option sets attributes on “conduit strings”, i.e. strings of the following type only: Super (with conduit dimensions), Super Alignment (SA with pipeline dimensions), Drainage, Pipeline, Pipe.

A full list of the Element and Segment attributes produced is documented within the 12d Referenance Manual available via the help button on the panel.

For each selected Super Alignment, this option creates a string text attribute call “label style name” and gives it the value the label style currently set for each Super Alignment.

This option sets attributes on Super strings with solid fill.
String attributes set are:

  • solid fill colour (text) on all Super strings set with solid fill dimension.
  • solid fill blend (real) on all Super strings set with solid fill dimension.

This option sets attributes on Super strings based on the Symbol data contained on the string or vertex.
String attributes set are:

  • symbol name (text) on all Super strings set with constant symbol dimension.
  • symbol size (real) on all Super strings set with constant symbol dimension.
  • symbol angle (real, decimal degrees) on all Super strings set with constant symbol dimension.

Vertex attributes set are:

  • symbol name (text) on all vertices of Super strings.
  • symbol size (real) on all vertices of Super strings.
  • symbol angle (real, decimal degrees) on all vertices of Super strings.
