What are those <U> and <M> buttons used for?
They are a quick way to add Attribute Manipulator Rules;

  • <U>  – Pick attribute to Use
  • <M> – Pick attribute to Modify

To create an Attribute Manipulator file, refer to:  12dwiki.com.au/attribute-manipulator

U – Pick attribute to Use

Allows you to pick all of the attributes to be used.  A rule under Attribute to Use will be created for each attribute, and set to “ignore”.  After this, you then just go through and complete the Modify details.

Create a new Rule, and click <U>.  On the Attribute Picker panel, select a string, then select the attributes you want to use.

After clicking <Set> a new Rule will be created for each attribute selected.

You can now go through each Rule and edit the Attribute to Modify.

M – Pick attribute to Modify

Allows you to pick all of the attributes to modify.  A rule under Attribute to Modify will be created for each attribute.  However, the difference here is that each Rule is now set as ‘Delete’.

If you were to click the <M> button, and select the same attributes, Rules will be created under Attribute to Modify.

You can now edit each Rule, or leave them if you plan to delete those attributes.

Vertex & Segment Attributes

Selecting the option ‘Apply to all vertices and segments‘ will set the Index: 0
This creates the Rule so that it is applied to all Vertices/Segments.
